Computer and Internet Acceptable Use Policy

The Mendon Library provides computers and access to the Internet for the use of library patrons. Wireless internet access is available at the library. The signal is filtered but not secure. Library staff will not accept liability or provide technical support for personal computers.

Overdue Notices, Fines, and Fees Policy

Each account can check out up to 50 regular library items and 10 DVDs at a time. This includes regular library items, special kits, DVDs, interlibrary loans, and the telescope. This limit does not include Book Club sets.

Interlibrary Loan Policy

Mendon Library’s Interlibrary Loan (ILL) account is provided and administered by the Utah State Library (USL). ILL requests are submitted through this account to be processed by USL. Item requests may be filled by available lenders throughout Utah and the U.S. If an ILL item is not available from any lending library, USL will notify the Mendon Library by email. This service, provided by USL, provides access to materials not available in the Mendon Library collection.

Patron Card Policy

The Mendon City Library offers library cards to residents of Mendon City and its adjoining communities. Everyone is welcome to participate in library programming.

To obtain a library card, a patron applicant must fill out a Mendon City Library application and satisfy the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years old or older OR be 14 years old or older and have a parent or guardian who agrees to responsibility and co-signs the application.
    • AND
  • Present a legal photo ID and provide proof of physical address, such as a city water bill or utility bill, rental agreement, or building permit.

Collection Development Policy

Mission Statement: Improve and enrich the lives of our patrons through information, education, and recreation. The library values the citizens of the greater Mendon area and responds to their needs by providing a clean and inviting building, a well organized and up to date collection, friendly professional service, and well trained staff who are committed to the library vision.
